When Channel 4 / ITN needed multiple live journalist positions across the US as part of the show “America Decides”, they contacted ACrew4U.

This mammoth 8 hour live show, anchored from Washington DC, was the channel’s first overnight coverage of the US elections since 1992

Hero of the hour was our tireless Creative Resources Director, Sarah Cove, backed up by Brian Smithdorf, junior project manager.

Sarah sourced crew, producers and LiveU bonded cellular uplink kit over no less than 6 live positions and 9 cities across the country. From Miami to Las Vegas, by way of Washington DC.

As you can imagine, there were no end of changes and last minute modifications to cover, but our camera crews and producers brought back the bacon and managed live hit after hit seamlessly during the broadcast.

As Sarah says of the experience
“ITN came to us a couple of weeks ahead of time and we took on the challenge. It was no mean feat sourcing people because every broadcaster you can imagine wanted to book crews and uplink.

It involved immense organisation and a busy couple of weeks as well as some seriously long hours dealing with the time difference. Ultimately we got it done, I learnt a lot and was ultimately very proud of our accomplishment
