How do I hire a Crew?
Would like to know how to book your crew with ACrew4U? Here’s how:
- Go to the get a quote form on our website.
- Just tell us about your project details, including location, dates, shooting style / format objectives and budget.
- We will then find the best crew for your project and prepare rates that we will send over for your inspection.
- If you have questions, we’ll set up a call to go through anything needed.
- And if you go ahead we will get all the paperwork issues and begin the pre-production process.
- Before the shoot we will organise a free pre shoot call with you and the local crew to go through all the details of your project.
What does a crew consist of?
Every project is different, so there is no one standard crew package.
At the most basic level, for video you will have a Camera Operator or Director of Photography (DOP or DP) who can monitor audio for a really simple shoot. If more then one person is speaking, you will need an Audio/Sound recordist to ensure things sound as good as they look. If we have more than one camera, it might be a good idea to get more than one Camera Operators or Assistants (ACs) to help.
If you need fancy camera moves than entail extra equipment we may need someone called Grip to deal with that too. On a more complex shoot you may also need a Lighting Grip or Gaffer to make sure things are well lit.
For Photography, a simple project might be feasible, but for more complex job, an assistant and other crew might be needed.
For Podcasting again the same logic applies, with a one person crew being practical for somehting very simple, but additional people needed in many cases.
For Event Video & Photo the same principles apply as to those for Video Crew and Photographers, mentioned above.
How much does it cost to hire your camera crew?
Every project is different, so there is no one standard crew rate.
A crew might cost anything from $1000-10000 for a simple shoot, depending on the spec needed and location, rising to many multiples of this according to spec.
