Taste Of Rome: Our Producers Alessandra and Mark’s Food And Drink Tips
We always have a reason to celebrate! When it comes to places, there are numerous options depending on what you desire to eat and the area of Rome you find yourself in.
Drink.
For an aperitif, spritz is a more budget-friendly choice. You can opt for Aperol or Campari, which are from the same brand but differ in taste—one is more bitter, the other sweeter. One is darker than the other. Mix in some sparkling wine like Prosecco and, if you prefer, a splash of water. Don’t forget plenty of ice.
Mark
In the evening, after we finish our work, I indulge in pasta. I can’t resist a good bowl of Amatriciana or Carbonara. I tend to avoid it during the day because it makes me sleepy, but it’s perfect for lunch, especially during long interviews, helping me stay awake.

As for pizza, one can never get enough. A delightful pizza is the best Italian way to conclude your trip, unless you’ve already had your fair share during filming. While lunch pizza is convenient, it’s not the same as the one you get in a restaurant, with a different dough and seasoning. Personally, being a vegetarian, I enjoy a variety of vegetable toppings. Some places even offer interesting options, like pesto to season the veggies on the pizza base, providing a unique experience for both winter and summer versions. It’s always an exciting choice.
