Quench your thirst with this refreshingly delicious Paris native drink and drink like a local!
Mauresque
This close relation of Pastis is technically a drink from the south of France but it’s perfectly fine and indeed delicious on one of those dog days of summer in Paris when the stone buildings and streets kick off heat long after the sun has gone down and Beer or Wine just will not cut it in the heat.
Ingredients:
3 parts Pastis (like Ricard or Pastis 51 but Pernod will do)
1 part Orgeat Syrup
How to make it:
Get a small jug of tap water with ice nice and cold.
Get a long glass and put the booze in with the syrup.
Add water and as the drink gets consumed gradually add more water as it tastes fine even when very dilute.
