Washington DC’s Visual Gems: Top Shooting Locations For Captivating Storytelling

What are the top shooting destinations for you in Washington, DC?

The people!

A lot of the production that we do in DC. Is not location based. There are people. It’s the people, not the place. There are people that are like an ambassador is coming. A President is coming. So. It’s not always. For even most of the times about the place. In DC is in and around them all

What are your top places to shoot in DC?

Number one in front of the capitol. Okay, cool. Number two, is the back of the Capitol, in front of the reflecting pool.  It’s all about the capitol!

At the Tidle Basin with Jefferson Monument. Jefferson Memorial. There. It’s all about these ones really.

Here is a fun idea. There’s a bike trail that goes right down the middle, the median of Pennsylvania Avenue, and you can put your camera there because. There’s spots that you can. Shoot and look right down the Pennsylvania Avenue.

And then, of course, if you want specific things like the FBI building. You don’t want to shoot on the same side of the block. Shoot across the street. The archives is a pretty building. The rotunda of Finance is really nice. Ronald Reagan Financial building.

We have a space where everybody goes to watch the airplanes take off. And it’s right at the end of the runway. The fence is there in front of you and you look up and you see airplanes going overhead every ten minutes.

There is no real vantage point to get a vista of the city. And it’s not interesting anyway. No skyscrapers and stuff. It’s quite low city. If you want skylines, it’s New York!

The Tidal Basin

A scenic riverside location. Especially ravishing in blossom season.

US Capitol

For B roll that caps it all, you cannot miss the Capitol. Never a dull moment goes by here with the ever turbulent political machinations of the great and sometimes not so good.

The White House

The Brits have Buck House, DC has the White House. Residence of the head of state and where all the visiting leader’s head for a tete a tete with the president.
