Do I need a permit to shoot in the city?
For small shoots of less than ten people with portable equipment on the public highway a permit is not always needed. Because it’s not always easy to tell what is or isn’t public highway it’s best to check.
Paris parks and gardens need permits as do the banks of the Seine and around some other landmarks. La Defense is technically not Paris proper and you have to deal with the body that manages it.
Lastly some famous buildings such as the Eiffel Tower when lit, or the Grand Arch of La Defense are covered by copyright or image rights that must be ceded by the architect.
