Hi, I’m Nathan!

I began working full-time in video in 2013. Since then I’ve been fortunate to accumulate skills & experience across a broad range of categories and contexts.

I started out filming weddings, before gaining experience in corporate events, talking heads and music videos. Weddings and corporate work were my full-time bread and butter for a number of years.

In 2018 I was employed by a massive player in the home improvement space, and spent the next few years working on product-focused content – filmed on an Arri Mini LF – including range showcases, “how-to” videos and hero spots; while taking on weekend work as a freelance editor, aerial photographer and animator.

Over time (and COVID), I focused much more on editing and post-production, including grading, graphics and 3D tracking, object removal and touch-ups of reflections and imperfect finishes. As a senior editor and motion designer for a global agency 2021-2023, I got into extensive rotoscoping and compositing, as well as building up my skills in motion graphics.

Coming from a background in music and audio production, I’ve been glad to work consistently with a number of record labels, providing animated content for their social channels; as well as experience in live music coverage and promo content including major artists including McFly, Tricky and The Rolling Stones.

Much of my corporate work has involved working with talent who aren’t used to being filmed. I’m always mindful of the human aspect of production: it’s important for people to feel comfortable, confident, and able to show up at their best in front of the camera. I’m careful to help them to do that, whether filming brides & grooms, CEOs, school-kids or tradespeople.

Currently my freelance work is split 50/50 between filming and post-production / graphics. I own a full-service pool of camera, motion, sound and lighting equipment; as well as a powerful workstation running Adobe Creative, alongside tools including Boris FX, NeatVideo and Topaz.

I’m keen to take on more editing, graphics and VFX work in particular; though I’m equipped and very happy to take on filming work as well, either on my own or as part of a crew.
